With the bankruptcy court’s permission the Hostess Brands Inc. will now continue to auction off several of their brands, which includes their Twinkies brand and Wonder Bread. According to a February 11, 2013 Reuters online article, Hostess will begin to sell off selected assets by a bankruptcy trustee to help pay down the company’s debt.

The company filed for bankruptcy last month and has been working on resolving their debts. The company originally started to end their brand’s business and liquidate their assets in November 2012. The brand’s initial reason for filing was due to the high demands placed on the company by the baker’s union.  Two private equity firms Apollo Global Management LLC and C. Dean Metropoulos & Co. have offered to purchase the Hostess Twinkie and Dolly Madison brands for roughly $410 million.
